Some LNG projects may be struggling to gain a foothold, but plans are coming together quite handsomely for Va.-based Venture Global and its mid-scale Calcasieu LNG facility in Cameron Parish, La. Reese Energy Consulting today is following the latest updates on the project currently under construction, which the company reports will reach completion one full year ahead of schedule. At least 12 cargo shipments are slated to set sail this fall. VG reports it already has sold 8 mtpa of LNG under long-term agreements and expects to contract the remaining 2 mtpa of capacity before the terminal is finished. Earlier this month, FERC cleared Venture Global’s 24-mile TransCameron feed pipeline for plant service, which also connects to TC Energy’s 10,600-mile ANR Pipeline among others. As part of TC’s Grand Chenier Xpress project, ANR now has been greenlighted to fire up an additional 15,000 hp on one of two compressor stations that—along with other modifications—will offer 1.1 BCFD of capacity to transport natural gas to the Calcasieu terminal.
